Centrifugal Pumps

Centrifugal pumps are a popular choice for fluid movement and transfer in many applications. Not only are they capable of handling large quantities of fluids, but they can provide very high flow rates and can adjust their flow rates.

Features of a centrifugal pumps include:

  • closed coupled or long coupled installation
  • inline design and end suction
  • various construction materials, including cast iron and stainless steel
  • self-priming options
  • vortex and open impeller options

Centrifugal pumps are commonly used to encourage flow or raise a liquid from a low level to a high level. These pumps convert energy, often from a motor, to energy in a moving fluid.

The two main components of the pump are the impeller and the casing. The impeller is the rotating part of the pump, whilst the casing provides an airtight passage which surrounds the impeller.

Fluid enters the casing, falls on the impeller blades and is whirled tangentially and radially outward towards the diffuser part of the casing. As the fluid moves through the impeller it gains velocity and pressure.

In what materials are centrifugal pumps available?

Some of the most common materials used in designing centrifugal pumps include plastic, bronze, stainless steel and cast iron.

Do you supply centrifugal pump systems built on a skid?

Yes, Global Pumps have manufactured many centrifugal pump systems.

What are the common industries that use centrifugal pumps?

Most commonly, centrifugal pumps are found in fire services, air conditioner industries and mining industries.

Can I pump chemicals or acids with these pumps?

Yes and no. Depending on the fluid being pumped, you can use these standard conventional pumps. But the materials are limited. Be aware, that these pumps will leak after some time due to the seal wearing out. Therefore, for chemical pumping we suggest looking at the range of Techniflo chemical centrifugal pumps.

What type of seals come in these pumps?

There are only 2 types of seals for the Global range of centrifugal pumps - mechanical seals and gland packing. You can get both in different materials depending on what you are pumping e.g. hot liquid.

Where do you deliver and what is your estimated shipping times?

Global Pumps offers the following centrifugal pumps:
Global Series Centrifugal Pumps - End Suction

The Global Pumps range of Centrifugal Pumps are designed to offer easy maintenance. Their design allows the complete rotating element to be removed for servicing without disconnecting pipework.

These centrifugal pumps are suitable for the following applications: air conditioning, heating & ventilating, refrigeration, fire protection, plumbing, food & drink manufacture, circulating, water pressure boosting, transfer, water supply & treatment, process industry, petroleum productions and general industry.

Global Series Centrifugal Pumps - End Suction Close Coupled Pumps

The close coupled Global Series centrifugal pump uses standard end suction pump components, and specially designed support frame and stub shaft to couple the pump directly to a foot-and-flange, metric frame electric motor.

Features of the Global close coupled centrifugal pump includes:

  • close coupled design eliminates coupling misalignment problems, and has a cost saving advantage over traditional long coupled units
  • designed and built to DIN Standard 24255
  • mechanical seals are fitted and available in a variety of elastomers and face materials to suit varying fluids and temperatures
  • maximum operating pressure 1,600 kPa
  • flows to 300 L/s
  • heads to 150 metres

This close coupled Global centrifugal pump is suitable for general transfer, air conditioning, cooling towers, marina, chilled water, process industry, water treatment and supply irrigation, food and drink manufacture and general industry. Global EB Series Vertical Multistage Centrifugal Pumps The EB, EBI and EBN pumps are non-self-priming, vertical multistage pumps of inline design, flanged or with Victaulic couplings, with equally sized suction and discharge ports. All Global EB Series vertical multistage centrifugal pumps are equipped with a cartridge type mechanical seal for easy maintenance. These pumps are suitable for the following applications:

  • water supply and pressure boosting: in buildings, hotels, residential complexes, pressure booster stations, supply of water networks, pressure boosting for industrial water supply
  • light industry: washing and cleaning systems, car washing facilities, firefighting systems
  • heating, ventilation and air-conditioning: boilers. Induction heating, heat exchangers, refrigerators, cooling towers and systems
  • irrigation and agriculture: greenhouses, sprinkler irrigation, floor irrigation
  • water treatment: water softeners and demineralisation, reverse osmosis systems, distillation systems, filtration, ultra-filtration systems
Techniflo TB Series Centrifugal Pumps

The Techniflo range of centrifugal pumps are non-metallic, sealless magnetic drive pumps. These pumps have no mechanical seals or packed glands; therefore liquids are sealed and the pump is “leak free”.

The TB Series offers a heavy duty ductile casing with bonded PTFE or PFA lining - as well as an open impeller for optimum NPSHr and efficiency. Features of the Global Pumps TB Series magnetic drive centrifugal pump include:

  • flows up to 300m3/hr
  • heads up to 100m
  • liquid SG up to 2.5
  • fluid temperatures from -70oC to 121oC
  • system pressures up to 20.7 bar (300 psi)

For a smaller version of the TB Series, the Techniflo U-Mag Series Centrifugal Pump offers the exact same materials of construction but is designed for smaller and more refined applications.

Features of the U-Mag series include:

  • flows to 102 m3/hr
  • heads to 50m
  • low NPSH
Techniflo PW-C Series Centrifugal Pump

The PW-C Series Centrifugal Pump by Techniflo offers a heavy-duty cast-iron casing with moulded EFTE liner for extreme chemical resistance. Technical features of the PW-C Centrifugal pump range include:

  • flows up to 1500 L/min
  • heads up to 44 m
  • liquid SG up to 1.9
  • liquid temperatures up to 90oC

These centrifugal pumps are suitable for the following applications: PCB machines, electroplating solutions, fume scrubbers, salt & brine recirculation, CIP cleaning systems, bulk tank unloading.

Techniflo PW-N Series - Self Priming Magnetic Drive Centrifugal Pump

The Techniflo PW-N series are constructed in heavy duty reinforced polypropylene construction. These centrifugal pumps have an advanced design, with a gas and water separation chamber. They can achieve a max flow rate of 510 L/min and a max suction lift of 4 m.

Techniflo PX & PS Series - Magnetic Drive Centrifugal Pump

The PX & PS series are available in polypropylene and ETFE wet ends, as well as closed-coupled motors. They can achieve a max flow up to 120 L/min, heads up to 20m and handle liquid SG up to 1.8.
