Horizontal slurry pumps 

The horizontal slurry pump series offers a complete range of sizes, across a full selection of materials. Components are available in a range of elastomer and hard metal types, suitable for any application requiring maximum abrasion and corrosion resistance.

The cartridge-type bearing assembly is completely removable, offering easy on-site maintenance. Global Pumps offer a wide range of seal types to suit your site requirements, including mechanical shaft seals that eliminate the need for gland sealing water.

Vertical slurry pumps 

This SlurryPro vertical slurry pump features a cantilever shaft design that eliminates bearings or seals in the fluid end, ensuring longevity and reliability. Material options include complete elastomer lined pumps and hard metal options designed for corrosive and abrasive applications. These slurry pumps are configurable to suit your specific requirements, including a range of column lengths and impeller designs.

The SlurryPro vertical configuration is ideal for handling corrosive coarse particles and high concentrations of slurry and are widely used in the metallurgical, mining and coal industries. They are also well suited to heavy slurry wash down and spill applications.

 

Froth pumps 

The SlurryPro froth pump uses a tangential inlet to create a vortex, separating solids and liquid from entrained air before the impeller — available in vertical and horizontal configurations, with material options including natural rubber, high chrome iron and CD4MCu.

It's ideal for handling high-air-content slurry and is widely used in flotation circuits, reject streams and iron ore processing, and also well suited to PSA and OSA systems.

WORKING PRINCIPLE

Global Pumps’ slurry pump range is based on the working principle of centrifugal pumps.

The SlurryPro pump converts rotational energy from a motor into energy in a moving fluid. The key components responsible for this energy conversion are the impeller and the casing. The impeller is the rotating element of the pump, while the casing is the airtight passage that surrounds it.

As the fluid enters the casing, it falls on the impeller blades at the eye of the impeller. The fluid is then moved radially outward until it exits the impeller. During this process, the fluid is gaining both velocity and pressure.

There are two major considerations when selecting the right slurry pump: the impeller and the casing. The impeller should have a large enough passageway so that the solid particles, no matter their size, can pass through without clogging. The casing of the pump, which handles the pressure, should have larger gaps between the impeller and the cut-water tongue, to reduce wear and prevent large solid particles from getting stuck.

It’s important you take note of the materials of construction, this includes metal and/or rubber pump liners and metal casings. A metal and/or rubber pump liner will combat erosion from the solid particles, while the metal casing resists erosion caused by the increased pressure and circulation. Selecting the right combination of these features will ensure that your slurry pump is well-suited to handle even the most demanding high-density slurry applications.
