Will my slurry pump wear out?

There are two major considerations when selecting the right slurry pump: the impeller and the casing. The impeller should have a large enough passageway so that the solid particles, no matter their size, can pass through without clogging. The casing of the pump, which handles the pressure, should have larger gaps between the impeller and the cut-water tongue, to reduce wear and prevent large solid particles from getting stuck.
It’s important you take note of the materials of construction, this includes metal and/or rubber pump liners and metal casings. A metal and/or rubber pump liner will combat erosion from the solid particles, while the metal casing resists erosion caused by the increased pressure and circulation.
