Verderflex

Peristaltic Pumps are ideal for liquids containing sand and other slurries with a high amount of particulate matter (up to 80%), or viscous fluids. Hose pumps used in multiple industries for a variety of applications, including mining, chemical processing, food processing, printing and packaging, waste management and water management.

Features include:

  • accurate and repeatable dosing
  • energy efficient
  • low maintenance
  • operate without manual intervention, reducing operator errors

WORKING PRINCIPLE

Peristaltic pumps are a type of positive displacement pump. They operate on the pumping principle called ‘peristalsis’. The fluid is contained within a flexible hose fitted inside the pump casing. Alternating compressions on the hose draw content in and propel the product away from the pump.

A rotating roller passes along the hose which creates a temporary seal between the suction and discharge sides of the pump. As the rotor turns, this sealing pressure continues to move along the hose, which forces the product to move away from the pump and towards the discharge line.

As the pressure is released, the hose recovers and creates a vacuum, which draws the product into the suction side of the pump, priming the mechanism.

APPLICATIONS

The unique design of the Verderflex peristaltic pumps ensure they are suitable for a variety of applications and environments, including:

  • abrasive fluids: lime mixing, kieselguhr, circulation and dosing
  • corrosive fluids: Ferric chloride, copper sulphate and similar activators, process chemicals, acids – including alkalis
  • shear sensitive fluids: coagulants, flocculants and bacterial remediation treatments
  • mining industry: dosing process reagents, thickener underflow, polymers and slurry transfer
  • water treatment: dosing lime, hypochlorite, silicate, polymer, ferric chloride, sludge transfer and filter press feeds
  • chemical industry: corrosive acids, bases and hydrocarbons
  • printing and packaging: inks (including water-based inks), paints, dyes and glue
  • battery filling, chemical cleaning, equipment sterilizing, seed coating: biocides, hydrogen peroxide, sodium hypochlorite, caustic soda
  • laboratory systems: biological broths to polluted streams
  • agriculture: feed additives, animal vaccines and waste transfers
  • paper and pulp: pulp and dyes
  • food and beverage: breweries, diatomaceous earth, wineries, dairies, sugar refining and abattoirs

FAQs

Can these hose pumps run dry?

Yes they can. They can run dry continuously without any damage to the pump.

Are these pump reversible?

Yes, you can reverse the pump for clearing blockages.

Can I use standard lubricating oil in the pump casing?

No, because this will reduce the hose life dramatically. We recommend using the Flex-Lube peristaltic hose pump lubricant.

How long will the hose last?

This varies per application. The average would be approximately 2,000 hours, but this depends on a number of different factors. The factors that influence the life of the hose include:

  • product being pumped
  • operating times (intermittent or continuous)
  • suction pressure
  • discharge pressure

Please note the estimated time should be viewed as a guide only, as it could be very different for your application.

Verderflex Peristaltic Hose Pumps

The Global Pumps’ Verderflex peristaltic hose pumps are ideal for pumping corrosive and abrasive slurries and chemical reagents. Verderflex offers the largest hose pump range in the world with over 20 pump sizes. There are optional non-metallic flange connections available for pumping aggressive and corrosive liquids.

VF Series: Global Pumps’ VF Series range includes the largest hose pump in the world the VF125, which has a max flowrate of 90 m3/hr. Flowrates within the VF Series range from 180 L/hr to 90 m3/hr.
Dura Series: The Verderflex Dura Series combines the compactness of a close coupled pump with the benefits of the traditional long coupled pump.

Verderflex-Vantage-5000 Peristaltic Verderflex Vantage 5000

The Verderflex Vantage 5000 is a peristaltic metering pumps suitable for accurate dosing of harsh chemicals. This pump can handle chemicals with entrained gas or liquids containing suspended particles. Applications for the Vantage 5000 metering pump include water treatment, corrosive chemicals, food flavours, brewing additives.

Verderflex Ds500 - Peristaltic hose pumps Verderflex Ds500

The Verderflex Ds500 is a peristaltic dosing pump with flowrates up to 500mL/min and pressures up to 7 bar. This pump has a quick change head assembly allowing repairs onsite without any tools required.

Rapide-R17S
Verderflex Rapide Series

The Verderflex Rapide is an industrial range of tube pumps that provide a balanced selection of simple to use peristaltic pumps. These tube pumps offer pump choices that are compact and require no tools during the tube change.

  • reach pressures of 16 bar and/or flow rates of 150 m3/hr
  • no valves or seals in contact with process fluid
  • chemically resistance flange connections available
  • tough mechanical seal gearbox protection
  • low pulse design to provide gentle pumping action for shear sensitive flocculants and to increase viability of sensitive bacteria
  • Verderflex hoses are the longest life hoses – their life does not depend on the abrasiveness of the process fluid (e.g. lime or silicon carbide pastes)
  • process fluid is completely contained within the pump in the event of a burst hose
  • can handle process fluids with high specific gravity and fluids that contain gas
  • advanced design means accurate and repeatable dosing
  • huge range of sizes to suit every application
  • pumps available within Australia
  • designed with energy efficiency in mind
  • low maintenance – the only parts you need to replace is the hose and lubrication
  • process fluids with high SG are not an issue
  • ideal for slurries and other liquid with high percent solids
  • process fluids that contain gas are also not an issue. Peristaltic pumps by nature have no “vapour-lock” problems
  • Verderflex pumps can operate without any manual intervention – reducing downtime due to operator error

Global Pumps has a peristaltic pump to suit almost any application. Their high suction capability (95% vacuum or a 9.5 mWc) and ability to pump high density fluids make them the number one choice for food & beverage, mining, agriculture and water treatment industries. The pump is designed to effectively pump abrasive, high viscosity, high density and corrosive fluids, which also makes them perfect for  any industry.

We choose the innovatively engineered Venderflex® Industrial Hose Pumps, which have rigid pump housing designs for heat dissipation and strength. The hose itself features a textured surface that creates micro-pockets of lubrication to extend the hose life, which means longer times between maintenance cycles. The pump has many features such as self-priming capabilities, can be easily cleaned without disassembling; and if you do experience blockages, the pump can be reversed to emptying the suction or discharge line. It’s an incredibly simple and effective design.

If you’re in the market for a peristaltic pump, we’re happy to provide you with a demonstration on how to get the most out of our Venderflex® Industrial Hose pump.

Low-flow Peristaltic Pump Feature

A low-flow peristaltic pump is ideal for use across a wide range of industries, facilitating safe and efficient transfer of liquids for chemical processing, mining, and even food & beverage production.

Using a low-flow intermittent system, our pumps are particularly effective at dosing, treating and performing precise liquid measurements for highly controlled production.

One of the biggest advantages of the Verderflex® pump range is that they’re extremely cost effective to operate and have adjustable pressure rates to suit your specific requirements to maintain consistency without monitoring.

Particularly if you’re looking for a low-flow peristaltic pump, we’d recommend the Rapide Tube Pumps or Vantage 5000 series. They’re compact, simple to use and excellent at handling chemically aggressive liquids.

We also stock a wide range of other pump products, including diaphragm pumps, mag drive pumps, drum pumps and much more.
