AIR OPERATED SUBMERSIBLE PUMPS

Talbo submersible

Talbo

Air operated submersible pumps, also known as pneumatic submersible pumps, are commonly used in the mining and construction industries for multiple applications. With no aluminium parts, these air operated submersible pumps are suitable were electric sparks may occur.

Features of the air operated submersible pumps include:

  • able to pump down to 22 mm ensuring maximum drainage
  • governor controlled motor for extended pump life
  • compact air operated design for use in hazardous and restricted areas
  • robust design for use in harsh environments

WORKING PRINCIPLE

Air operated submersible pumps operate in a similar fashion to submersible pumps. These air-driven submersible pumps operate fully-submerged in water, with a pneumatic motor used to lift the water from a low level to high, or low-pressure regions to the high-pressure region.

APPLICATIONS

The Talbo air operated submersible pump is commonly found in the following applications:

  • underground mining
  • construction
  • dewatering
  • general industry
  • sump drainage
  • emptying ballast tanks in marine vessels
  • draining cargo holds during and after washing procedure

Talbo Air Operated Submersible Pumps

These air operated submersible pumps have no aluminium parts; they are constructed for areas were electric sparks may risk an explosion. This makes them especially suitable for use in coal mines.

The Talbo ranges are a relatively compact design and are suitable where portability is important and in limited-access situations.

Features of the Talbo air operated submersible pump include, but are not limited to:

  • flow rate 980 L/min
  • head 56 m

These Talbo pumps are found in the following applications:

  • underground mining
  • construction
  • dewatering
  • general industry
  • sump drainage
  • emptying ballast tanks in marine vessels
  • draining cargo holds during and after washing procedure

These submersible air powered pumps do not have electric cables because they are air-operated. Electric cables have the tendency to fray or wear out (especially when used to pull the pump out of a sump or drainage area) and this can lead to very costly parts and long downtimes.

Additionally, the Talbo pumps will not burn out if they become jammed by fibres or rocks, they will only stall.
