A Tube Pump utilises the same working principles as a peristaltic hose pump. The fluid is contained within a tube fitted inside the pump casing. The pumping principle is based on alternating compression and relaxation of the hose or tube, drawing content in and propelling the product away from the pump.

Features of Global Pumps’ tube pumps including:

  • capable of aggressive media
  • compact design
  • can be used with variable frequency drives
  • leak-free pumping
  • cost effective
  • kink-free liquid path
  • food-grade

WORKING PRINCIPLE

Tube pumps are a type of peristaltic hose pumps, recognised as a type of positive displacement pump. The fluid is contained with the flexible tube fitted within the pump casing. The pumping principle is referred to as peristalsis and is based alternating compression and relaxation of the tube - drawing media in and propelling it away from the pump.

This working principle offers repeatable and accurate dosing, as well as no cross-contamination with no moving parts encountering the liquid.

APPLICATIONS

The wide range of Verderflex tube pumps are suitable for installation in university laboratories, where they offer chemical dosing and can gently transfer fragile cell cultures. These pumps are ideal for:

  • off-line aseptic pumping
  • Bioreactors
  • buffer & media preparation
  • fermentation
  • harvesting
  • purification
  • tablet coatings

They are also suitable for the following applications:

  • ink
  • glue
  • chemicals e.g. acetic acid, chromic acid, fluorosilicic acid
  • water treatment
  • mining
  • food stuff e.g. wine, whiskey

FAQs

Are these pumps reversible?

Yes. These pumps can pump one way, and then you can reverse them to pump the other. Great to stop wastage’s when pumping ink.
