Submersible Pumps

Submersible pumps are constructed to withstand the arduous conditions of underwater operation. The motor is hermetically sealed and close-coupled to the body of the pump, ensuring effective operation fully submerged.

Features of submersible pumps:

  • wet and dry well options
  • suitable for solids
  • manual or automatic
  • free standing or guide rail
  • different material options available such as stainless steel or cast-iron construction
  • oil bath or dry motor

WORKING PRINCIPLE

A submersible pump, sometimes referred to as an electric submersible pump, is fully submerged in water. The pump is a mechanical device used to lift water from a low level to high, or low-pressure regions to the high-pressure region.

The pump pushes water to the surface by converting rotary energy into kinetic energy, into pressure energy. The motor is sealed hermetically and connected closely to the pump.

APPLICATIONS

  • pumping clear water
  • wastewater
  • sewage
  • quarries
  • slurry
  • mines
